Training Session

We organise a Training Session on Photography every year. The program is open to students, faculty and staff of Jadavpur University. The Session aims to impart basic knowledge and fundamentals regarding photography, handling and use of SLR cameras, darkroom techniques including developing and printing, etc.

This year the training session will start from 10th of August, and will last five weeks. Theoretical and Practical classes are held during the weekends, and a darkroom class during the week. As the Session is meant for, and conducted by, students of Jadavpur University, all classes are scheduled so as not to disturb other academic commitments of the participants.

All requirements during this Training Session, such as SLR cameras, Film, Darkroom Facilities, chemicals needed for Developing and Printing, etc. are provided by JUPC.

Participation in the Training Session is a must for becoming a member of JUPC. Members of JUPC are entitled to various equipment and facilities such as:

• SLR Cameras

• Chemicals needed for Developing and Printing

• Photographic Paper at subsidised rates

• Excellent darkroom facilities

• Regular workshops and advanced classes to further knowledge regarding various photographic topics

• A library with a good collection of photographic books and journals

• Computer facilities

Training Session 2008 will be conducted during the same period, next year.
